A Kia EV6 on the Bonneville Salt Flats, driven by dragging a finger across a phone screen. Paint, upholstery and wheels are chosen from a tray of swatches and change on the car while it is moving, with an orbit camera for looking at the result.
The salt flats are the point. An empty white plain under a hard blue sky puts nothing between the viewer and the car, and shows a paint finish the way a showroom cannot.
It was built with Meta’s Creative Shop as the demonstration of what an in-feed experience could be, and the same scene has carried other vehicles.
